Community & Political Affairs Chair 2023-2024

Danny Chen

Hello everyone!!! I am one of your COPO for this year, and I can’t wait to share Filipino history with ya’ll!

Hi ya’ll. Thank you and it was an honor to serve as this years Community and Political Affairs Chair. Coming into this position, I was told that I didn’t have to know everything. And to be honest, I was a little scared because of that. I wasn’t Filipino and I am COPO? That’s wild.

But it was a great experience. I learned a lot about Filipino culture and I could describe whole experience this as “Interesting.” There was a time that I didn't believe in myself, but I managed to find the strength to continue being COPO to the best of my ability.

Special thanks to my co Rhay. She gave many ideas and planned most events. Her love and dedication to her position and PASA is what inspired me to give this a try. Also thanks for teaching me stuff along the way!

Thank you CoreBuhay for supporting us and helping us with events. You guys honestly make our live 1,000,000x easier. There is a lot of people to say thanks to, so thank you all. (You know who you are). Thank you PASA members who attend our events. It means a lot!

Special shout-out to Kuya Greg for being clutch with some help on the side.

Again thank you and it was my pleasure to serve as this years Community and Political Affairs Chair. My name is Danny Chen and I am signing off.

Rhayna Murrilo

Howzit, I’m Rhayna but you can also call me Rhay and 1/2 of the CoPos!

To my PASA Pamiliya, it was such an honor that I served as one of your CoPos. Expressing the history of the Pilipinx culture and hosting PACC x Founders Day was a fun turnout experience, and working with COREBuhay was a huge emotional rollercoaster. Thank you to my predecessor Nolan and my Ate Rianne for my core 52 nomination and for believing that I can serve and represent my community in this organization; it's a shoutout to you both. To my outstanding goofy-ah co, working with you has been wonderful despite our ups and downs; I’m happy I saw your growth. Mahalo to my family line: Line Pahingá, unofficials, friends, and CORE for being there for me and for support. Know that my term on CORE isn't over, and I'm happy to continue to show my love for communal work and our Pinoy history because if there’s “no history,” there’s “no self,” but when you “know history,” you “know self.” (José Rizal)
