Mission Statement
Mission Statement: The Pilipinx American Student Association (PASA) engages students at California State University East Bay in activities and programs that aid in enriching educational growth, enhancing Pilipinx cultural awareness, and providing opportunities for community service and leadership development. PASA builds lifelong camaraderie with its members, providing a solid foundation of support and guidance that will help them succeed throughout and after college.
HXstory
The Pilipinx American Student Association of California State University, East Bay (formerly Hayward) was established in 1972 by our founder Randy Sabado. It was created to be a cultural organization that focuses on promoting the Filipinx culture throughout our East Bay campus and our community. In 2016, Pilipino was changed to Pilipinx. PASA is very well known on campus, not just as a cultural organization but as a community. As a community, we are proud of our Filipino-American students eager to learn more about their roots. We are also very proud of our students of diverse backgrounds for their open minds and enthusiasm in embracing our culture.
The Five Pillars
The Pilipinix American Student Association (PASA) follows these Five Pillars: Fellowship, Leadership, Academics, Community, and Culture, also known as F.L.A.C.C.
